SpexLite ® Ultra Light Filler Beads are High Volume/ Low Weight Fillers--This makes
SpexLite ® Beads Very Efficient Resin Extenders.

Compare One Gallon of Water at 8.34 Pounds per gallon at 1 gm/cc density to the same
One Gallon Volume of SpexLite ® Beads at 0.17 pounds per gallon at 0.02 gm/cc density:

SpexLite ® Beads are 50 X Lighter than Water!
Water
(8.34 lbs.)
SpexLite ®
(0.17 lbs.)

Consider the Minimal Liquid Absorption of SpexLite ® Beads in water and other liquids*:

SpexLite Beads in Water Float on Top--Do Not Absorb
Liquid SpexLite ® Beads in Water Float on Top--Do Not Absorb
Liquid--This Minimizes Resin Demand!

*Note: Users are cautioned to test SpexLite ® Beads to assure chemical and temperature compatibility in their specific formulations.

SpexLite ® Beads range in density from about 1.0-1.6 pounds per cubic foot (PCF).
Typical lightweight fillers are about 7-8+ PCF--5-7 x heavier than SpexLite ® Beads.
Common industrial resins are usually 50-80 PCF--50 x heavier than SpexLite ® Beads.
Mineral fillers are up to 60-80-120 PCF--up to 50-100 x heavier than SpexLite ® Beads.

Unlike mineral fillers and other extenders, SpexLite ® Ultra Light Filler Beads do not absorb resin or liquid in the system. This optimizes formula cost and assures viscosity stability, while also reducing shrinkage and cracking that often occurs with drying, curing and aging of formulated materials.
